Care and Materials

Silk

The magnificent silk is one of the world’s greatest fibers, often called the queen of the kind. It is incredibly light and soft, but also a great insulator – it will keep you cool in the hot weather, and warm you in the wintertime. Although it seems fragile, silk is one of the strongest fabrics in the world. And that made it so desirable, as well as its hypoallergenic properties, elasticity, longevity, and that particular shine that adorns it.

CARE: You should be careful when it comes to the maintenance of silk. We recommend you wash it separately with cold water and mild detergent that contains non of the whiteners or washing powder. Rinse it gently to remove any shampoo, and pour a few drops of white vinegar in the last rinse to preserve its natural shine. The best way to dry it is to lay your piece flat on a clean towel and roll it up to reduce water. Then hang it on a padded hanger, avoiding the direct sun. Never use the dryer, because heat can damage its delicate fibers.

Alpaca

The tame alpacas from South America are responsible for the wonderful wool of identical name. It is a biodegradable material highly appreciated for its hypoallergenic properties – it is completely lanolin-free so it doesn’t undergo toxic processes in production. The wave structure of its fibers makes it strong and durable, and therefore it has found its place in the world of fashion. Not only it is a great temperature regulator (it makes you feel cool when is hot, and warm when is cold), but also has UV protection for your skin. Alpaca is four times more resistant than sheep wool, so you can be sure it is a long-time investment.

CARE: Although alpaca wool is extremely resistant and more durable than other wool after machine washing, we highly recommend you hand wash it in cold water. Choose a mild shampoo for delicate care. We advise you not to ring or twist your garment after washing, but simply and gently press it to remove excess water. Let it dry flat on a clean towel away from direct sunlight. Never use a drying machine.

Merino

If you are looking for fiber regardless of the season, you should go with merino! Unlike other species, merino sheep are built to survive hot summers and freezing winters in the mountains, due to the incredible nature of their fleece. Being lightweight and breathable it keeps your body cool in summer temperatures, but also provides you with warmth during wintertime. It is particularly soft and delicate, so it doesn’t itch. It is a great choice for allergy sufferers because it does not retain dust, nor moisture which is suitable for bacteria development.

CARE: Being odor-resistant, you don’t need to wash merino wool pieces as often as other clothes. But when the time comes, you can wash it in the washing machine inside-out with cold water (up to 30 ℃). Use a mild shampoo without softeners or bleach, and don’t tumble dry. We recommend flat drying on a clean towel to retain the original form.

Linen

Lightweight and breathable linen should be called the king of the summertime. This fabric, derived from the flax plant, is comfortable, soft and durable, and above excellent conductor of heat. Its moisture-wicking properties keep you dry and cool in hot weather. Being antibacterial makes it the best choice for people with sensitive skin.

CARE: We recommend hand washing your linen garments to make them last longer. Use mild detergent and do not tumble dry. Leave drying spread on a clean flat surface. In the case of using a washing machine pick the handwashing program with a gentle cycle at a low temperature.

Organic cotton

The core difference between conventional and organic cotton is that in the cultivation of the latter pesticides and toxins are not used. That is why we choose organic ones when we work with cotton! It is made from natural seeds and that makes it soft and suitable for sensitive, even atopic skin.

CARE: We recommend hand washing all of our organic cotton garments to make them last longer. Use mild detergent with cold water (up to 30 ℃). In the case of using a washing machine pick the handwashing program with a gentle cycle at a low temperature. Wash inside-out with similar colors.
